The PRINCE2® Examinations

The APM Group is accredited by UKAS as the PRINCE2® Certification Body in accordance with requirements of EN 45011 and EN 45013. This is the only qualification scheme aimed at Project Management professionals that has this recognition. Part of the requirements of the European Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Bodies is the need for continuous improvement.

Certification in the PRINCE2® method has become a recognised requirement of the project management industry. The most desirable level of the certification is the “PRINCE2® Registered Practitioner” qualification.

Delegates on our PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Courses are given the opportunity to prepare for and take the appropriate Foundation and Practitioner Certificates Examinations administered by the APMG.

Foundation Examination:

  • One-hour, closed book examination
  • 75, factual, multiple-choice format
  • Pass mark of 50%
  • Pre-requisite for Practitioner Examination

If a candidate chooses to sit the Foundation Examination only, and passes, they will receive a "Foundation Examination" certificate stating that they have passed.

Candidates must always take the Foundation Examination before the Practitioner Examination, either on the same day or separately.

If a candidate has previously passed the Foundation Examination, they are qualified to sit the Practitioner Examination without the need to re-sit the Foundation Examination.

Practitioner Examination:

  • Three-hour, open-book examination
  • Three questions based on practical scenario
  • Examines applied knowledge and understanding of PRINCE2®
  • Pass mark of 50%

PRINCE2® Examinations

Passing PRINCE2® Practitioner doesn't need to be daunting if you are fully prepared.

Get fully prepared by using the i-Logic Group PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam Primer.

The PRINCE2® Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2® Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 years of their original certification.

Re-Accreditation Examination:

  • One-hour, open-book examination
  • One questions based on practical scenario
  • Examines applied knowledge and understanding of PRINCE2®
  • Pass mark of 50%

Practitioners certified prior to October 2000 have the opportunity to take the re-registration examination in order to demonstrate their commitment to professional development. This is particularly important following the revisions to the PRINCE2® Manual and its greater focus on Business Case and the Management of Risk.

Those who have qualified since January 2001 or have voluntarily undertaken the re-registration qualification are designated as Registered Practitioners, which enables Employers and prospective Employers to be confident with their recency of knowledge and commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
